Thompson “Thompy” Wilson

Thompson “Thompy” Wilson, of Cumming, Georgia passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022. He was born September 14, 1936, in Canton, Georgia and was the son of the late Sam and Vera (Thomas) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Opal Wilson, and his brothers Reuben, Vardry and Marvin Wilson.

Thompson was a member of the Church of God. He was a true Georgia sports enthusiast – loving the Braves, Falcons and Bulldogs. He enjoyed sharing games with his Braves Buddy, Jamey Simmons. Thompson enjoyed traveling and was very excited to be his son’s co-pilot.

He is survived by his children, Lisa Street, David Wilson, Nancey (Rob) Lowe, Andy (Jennifer) Wilson, and son-in-law, Robert Street; siblings, John (JoAnn) Wilson, James (Cheryl) Wilson, and Martha (John) Marcucci; grandchildren, Sheree (Michael) Moore, April (Donald) Payne, Morgan Brittany Wilson (Chris) Gooch, Bryce Wilson, BubbaWilson, and Bud Killingsworth; great grandchildren, Hailey Moore, Jada Turner, Jacob Turner, and LucyAnn Payne; sisters-in-law, Audrey Wilson, Barbara Wilson, and Etta Simmons; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 12, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Allen and Pastor Austin Houston officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service
