Timothy Scott Dovel, aged 43, passed away on August 30, 2023, after a valiant 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments. Born on November 13, 1979, he was the cherished son of the late Roger Dovel (2018) and Louise Dovel, who survives him.
Tim's memory will forever be treasured by his devoted spouse, Jason Hayes, who stood by his side throughout his illness. He leaves behind a caring brother, Mark Dovel, who shared a lifetime of memories and experiences with him.
Hailing originally from Stanley, Virginia, Tim found his home in Cumming, Georgia. He was a self-employed professional in the real estate industry, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication to his craft.
Tim had a zest for life that was evident to everyone who knew him. One of his greatest passions was embarking on journeys around the world, often through the enchanting experiences of cruise ship travel. His spontaneous spirit led to countless unforgettable adventures, as he embraced the beauty and diversity the world had to offer.
In addition to his professional accomplishments and love for exploration, Tim held a special place in his heart for his friends and family. His warm smile and kind demeanor made him a joy to be around, and he touched the lives of many with his generosity and authenticity.
As we say our final goodbyes to Tim, let us remember the lessons he imparted through his courage in the face of adversity, his determination to live life to the fullest, and his unwavering love for those who meant the most to him.
In celebration of Tim's remarkable life, a gathering will be planned in the coming months. Friends and family will come together to remember a man whose spirit could not be dimmed, even in the face of adversity. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tim's memory to a cancer research foundation or a charity of your choice. Tim's legacy of strength, love, and vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Tim's life at his funeral service, which will be held on September 2, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home located in Luray, Virginia, with interment at Beahm's Chapel Cemetery following the service. Prior to the funeral, a visitation period will take place, starting one hour before the service.
