Vera Tatum Webb

Vera Tatum Webb of Cumming passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 with her family at her side. Vera Louella Tatum Webb was born on March 25, 1922 in old Milton County in the Ocee Community now known as North Fulton County and Alpharetta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Lee Onnie Hunnicutt Tatum, baby sister Leona Tatum and her beloved husband of 63 years Howard Webb. She is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Hilda Webb (Douglas) Hulsey of Spartanburg, SC; son, Kevin Webb of Cumming; granddaughter, and grandson-in-law, Melissa Hulsey (Richard) Fery, of Charleston, SC, and sister and brother-in-law, Montine Tatum (A.Y.) Howell of Cumming. She was always 'Aunt Vera' to her many nieces and nephews and extended family. From the age of 6 Vera lived on Kimball Bridge Rd in Alpharetta until moving to Cumming in 2004. She graduated from Milton High School in 1939 with a wonderful class of 35 boys and 35 girls. Mrs. Webb worked for the Fulton County School System as a Food Service Manager for 25 years primarily at Amy L. Dodd Elementary School. She loved the children and always had a kind word for each child she encountered. She also loved her garden and her flowers at home and cooked many a wonderful meal at home for those who loved to eat. Vera was blessed by many wonderful Doctors who believed in Prayer and kind words and by the wonderful staff at Northside Hospital. She was also blessed by wonderful, loving caregivers, Dorris Nix and Blanche Garner. Vera loved her church family at Clear Springs Baptist Church in Alpharetta. The funeral service for Vera Webb will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming. Burial will be at Sawnee View Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. preceding the service Wednesday. The family would like to express their appreciation for all the prayers and visits from friends, family and church family over these last days. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vera T. Webb Memorial Fund for the care of her son, Kevin. They may be sent to: Renasant Bank, 500 Canton Road, Cumming, GA 30040.
