Verdell Roughton

Verdell Roughton, 80, of Dawsonville passed away Friday, August 25, 2023. Verdell was a sweet, loving nurturer who had a feisty spirit. A good cook, she enjoyed preparing meals for others. She loved to sew and teaching others to sew. She loved her family and friends, spending time with them and having get-togethers. In addition to her family, Verdell is survived by her loving dogs.

Survivors include her children, Rhonda Chadwick, Tony Scott (Lisa) Roughton, Tim (Deena) Roughton, Pam (Jason) Fairbanks; a sister, Monzie Nelson; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 29, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Pirkle officiating. She will be laid to rest at the side of her late husband, Tony Roughton at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
