Viola Chambers, age 100, of Cumming passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Viola was the oldest living member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hoke Chambers; daughter, Effa Dean Seymour and her husbands, Harold Charles and Alfus Seymour; daughter, Elizabeth Nunan; son, Gene Chambers and his wife, Melba Holtzclaw Chambers; daughter, Ruthell Chambers; son, Michael Chambers; brothers, Lee Bennett, Ben Bennett and Delmar Bennett; sister, Beatrice Hurt; sons-in-law, Hugh Hyde and Lanny Hunt. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Debi and Robert Corder, Bobby Hyde, Jackie Hunt, Ellen Chambers; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and her caregiver, Susie Hazeleger. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her nieces, Sally Maney and Sue Broome for their loving kindness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Crossroads Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
