Filled with compassion and interest in others, Dee made friends easily and maintained contact with many. She was active in her husband's medical practice in Crossville, Tennessee. Most notably, Dee and Dr. Bob would spend many Christmas' delivering gifts to local families. Dr. Bob would dress up as Santa and Dee as Mrs. Claus, and they would show up in a stretched limo, which excited the kids receiving the gifts. Dee was also an avid supporter of her local animal shelters and had a hard time not adopting every animal she would see. There was not doubt that she loved her animals. She enjoyed sewing, dancing and singing. She was known to have the voice of an angel. Before dementia, Dee loved being outdoors, working in the year and watching birds, especially humming birds, at their feeders. Wildlife and nature was always a joy to Dee. Dee is survived by her daughter, Kelli Claypool of Columbia, Kentucky; daughter, Staci (Michael) Schultz of Cumming, Georgia; son, Jason Smith of Clearwater, Florida; sister, Betty White of Nokomis, Florida; sister, Rebecca Freedman of Palm Harbor, Florida; and 7 grandchildren, Brandi, Britni, Jordyn, Spencer, Dominick, Cooper, and Londyn.
