Virginia Mae Jones

Mrs. Virginia Mae Jones, age 87 of Gainesville, Ga. Passed away peacefully September 11, 2015. Virginia and her husband Harold Jones (AKA Granny and Pop) owned and operated the Lantern Inn for over forty years. Virginia loved and cherished her family and friends. Virginia dedicated her life to entertaining the thousands of people who was graced by her presence. Crowds of people, dancing, jitterbugging, slot machines (Las Vegas), music, making scarfs for the Elvis show was what put a smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Jones and daughter, Linda Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Jones; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Brooke Dreger- Jones of Gainesville; grandchildren, Tracy Jones, Stephanie Jones, Chastity Shanahan, Michaelyn Jones and Matthew Jones; great grandchildren, Benjamin Dempsey, Kenneth Jones, Piper Jones, Mason Jones and Jackson Shanahan. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held Tuesday, September 15th, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville, Ga. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
