Warren L. Nickell Jr

Warren L. Nickell, Jr., 84, of Cumming passed away peacefully March 29, 2017 at home, surrounded by loving family and his wife Joan Nickell. Join the family in celebrating the life of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Warren was born June 11, 1932 in Mishawaka Indiana to Warren L. Nickell Sr. and Edith McDonald Nickell. His fondest memories were his days on the farm in Rochester Indiana. He graduated from Rochester High School where he met his wife Joan. He served in the Navy and went on to a 32 year career with IBM as Director of Education. In his retirement, Warren kept busy with his beloved dog Timmy visiting schools for Humane Hearts. He loved vacationing with family, playing cards and tennis, and spending time with friends. Warren leaves behind his wife of almost 65 years, Joan; children, Mike Nickell, Debbie Tucker, Patricia Baker, Cathy Cerny, David Nickell, Tom Nickell, Lee Nickell and their families including 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The service of celebration will be Friday April 7, 2017 at St. Brendan the Navigator, 4633 Shiloh Road, Cumming GA 30040 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to: Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind INC. 371 East Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown NY 11787-2976 or website: www.guidedog.org Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
