Wenda Williams Skinner

Wenda Williams Skinner, age 82, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Northside Hospital Forsyth in Cumming after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be at held at graveside at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24 at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The Gardens are located at 1390 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040 with Pastor Ben Mathes officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia.

Wenda was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Omer Kirby and Mary Evelyn Williams on September 28, 1937. She graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta and went to work for the Internal Revenue Service. She spent her time raising her four children and was very involved in all their activities through the years. She also had a great love of birds and flowers and was a member of numerous garden clubs. When her children were older and graduated from high school, she used her incredible talent and passion of arranging flowers to work as a floral designer at a flower shop. She then went on to earn her medical secretary and transcription associate degree and went to work for a private physician practice and then the Emory Clinic in Atlanta.

After she retired from the medical field, Wenda took great pleasure in taking care of children. She had a special bond with many families and loved the children she cared for as her own.

Wenda is preceded in death by her parents, Kirby and Evelyn Williams.

Wenda is survived by her four children: Ken Skinner, Kathy Smith, Greg Skinner (Nora) and Reed Skinner (Pim); grandchildren: Lauren Reynolds (Matt), Will Smith (Taylor), Matt Skinner (Alicia), Andrew Smith, Dillon Skinner, Golf Skinner (Wan), Moriah Hall (Wynn); and 7 great grandchildren.
