William “Bill” Russell Mountain passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 92 years old. Bill was born and raised in Crandon, Wisconsin and later joined the Army in 1952. While stationed at Fort Gillem, he met his wife of 63 years Anna Sue Penland. After serving a 35 year career with General Motors, he retired to a life of woodworking and spending time with his beloved family. Known to his grandchildren as “Pop”, he will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit and always having ice-cream in the freezer.
William is preceded in death by this parents Otis and Catherine Mountain, his wife Anna P. Mountain, his sons Russell and Richard Mountain. He is survived by his daughter Vickie Kierbow and son in law Jerry Kierbow. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Davis from Sundance Wy. He is also survived by daughters in law Elizabeth Mountain and Tricia Barone. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren: Weslee Washington(Patricia), Matthew Kierbow (Alana), Katie Owens (Curtis), Amanda Toy (James) and Matthew Kissill (Kimberly) Henry Mountain (Maddie) and Emily Mountain. William had 7great- grandchildren: Weslee Washington, Robert Washington, William Washington, Joanie Washington, Patrick Owens, Wyatt Kierbow and Emmylou Toy.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Ingram Funeral Home on January 12, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until the hour of service.
A service is being planned for January 13th. 9:00 a.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA is in charge of arrangements.
