William Townsend Bailey

William Townsend Bailey, age 85 of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. He was born on Long Island, NY, graduated high school from Perkiomen Boarding School in Pennsburg, PA, attended Oklahoma A (Oklahoma State) and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He was commissioned at graduation as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Transportation Core, served one year in Korea as a tug-boat skipper in Inchon Harbor, South Korea. He returned home after one year of service in South Korea and was discharged as a First Lieutenant. He also managed many farms over his lifetime including raising purebred Black Angus cattle and raising many champions. He had a great appreciation for the great outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Martha Bailey and brother, Jason Bailey. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Henrianna Bailey of Atlanta, Georgia; his sons Bill Jr. and wife Annette of Suffolk, Va., Mike and wife Leigh of Alpharetta, Ga., Tom of Roswell, Ga. and daughter Cindy and Guy Hill, Jr. of Marietta, Ga., as well as eight grand children, Megan, Jessica, Lindsey, Brad, Heather, Lauren, Jenna, Trey; and 5 great grand children, Kinley, Sutton, Allie, Luke, Anna and anticipated arrival of Jameson. In lieu of a service, a private family Celebration of Life Picnic to be held in Jasper, Ga. The family wishes to acknowledge all of the caregivers from Pacifica Senior Living Memory Care and Homestead Hospice who have been a part of our dad's life over the last year. We are so grateful for the care and love you showed him. The family would also like to acknowledge the compassion and dignity that our dad was given while at his brief stay at Southwest Christian Care Hospice.
