Willie Holbert Roper, age 89 of Forsyth County, passed away December 31, 2010. Mr. Roper was a veteran of WWII and retired from Wilsons (Tyson). He was the eldest member of Pine Crest Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his infant son; parents, Doyle and Cleo Roper; brother, Egbert Roper; sisters, Peggy Barringtine, and Shirley Gurley. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Adell Roper; son and daughter in law, Michael and Rachel Roper; daughter and son in law, Shelia and Tommy Carney and son and daughter-in-law, Vickey and Melody Roper; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Ralph and Helen Roper, Eddy and Linda Roper, Garry Barringtine; sisters and brother-in-law, Inez and James Chadwick, Fairey Higgins, Mary Lou Roper; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bennie and Ruth Collins; 5 grandchildren, Terry Roper ( Brandy ), Benji Roper ( Heidi ), Kimberly Mizelle ( Eugene ), Kyle Carney, Haleigh Carney; 6 great-grandchildren, Mason and Emily Roper, Bailey and Anna Roper, Halle and Dominic Mizelle; a number of nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Carol Best. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home on January 2, 2011 at 3:00 p.m with Rev. Carrel Pruitt, Rev. Dan Henderson, and Rev. Craig Richard officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday January 1, 2011, from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday January 2, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
